The classic 10k race returns to scenic, historic Moccasin Bend for its 39th year! This is the flattest, fastest 10k around and the best race value, just $18 for the 10k and $15 for the 5k (pre-registered). This no-frills race is distance-certified, course timed and managed by the Chattanooga Track Club.
The out-and-back course begins and ends on the campus of the Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute and race proceeds benefit Johnson Mental Health Center's PATH program providing needed mental health assistance to homeless individuals.
This is a low price, no-frills race. As such, no race t-shirts will be provided.
UPDATE: The first 150 registrations (10k and 5k combined) and race volunteers will receive a free, 18 oz. glass mug with race logo imprinted. Sign up early to ensure you receive a free gift.

6:00 am – Race set up begins.
6:15 am – Early volunteers check in.
6:30 am – Bib pickup and day-of-race registration opens.
7:15 am – All race volunteers check in.
7:30 am – Day-of-race registration closes.
8:00 am – 10k race start.
8:10 am – 5k race start.
9:30 am – Awards
9:45 am – Street re-opens, all runners must clear the course.
10:30 am – Clean up and breakdown.
** NOTE: the 9:45 cut-off will be strictly enforced. Minimum 10k pace of 16:30 per mile. A participant with a physical disability who cannot maintain the minimum pace should contact the race director prior to the event regarding special accomodations.
DIRECTIONS
From US-27 N: Take Manufacturer’s Road exit just north of Olgiati Bridge. Turn West on Manufacturer’s Road and continue to Hamm Road. Turn LEFT onto Hamm Road. Follow Hamm Road 0.7 miles to Moccasin Bend Road. Turn LEFT on Moccasin Bend Road. Drive 1.8 mile to Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. Follow signs for parking.

PARKING
Race Parking on the campus of Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. At the entrance, drive past the guard shack and turn left. The parking lot is near the gymnasium. Packet pickup and registration will be in the gymnasium.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This out-and-back course begins on Moccasin Bend Road at the front gate of the Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. The course is straight with no corners until the 5k turnaround at Moccasin Bend Golf Course (1.5 mile point) and the 10k turnaround at Hudson Road (3.1 miles). Total elevation is 258’ with a maximum grade of 1%.
Water stations: There will be two water stations:
#1. 1.5 mile mark (5k turnaround). 10k runners will pass this station twice.
#2. 3.1 mile mark (10k turnaround)
CHARITY
PATH Chattanooga. PATH stands for Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness.
PATH is coordinated through Johnson Mental Health Center which has been the charity partner of the 10k race since it began over 30 years ago. The purpose of PATH is to provide outreach and case management services to individuals with mental illness who are at risk of losing their homes or are currently homeless. PATH provides its services at no cost to eligible individuals.
PATH case managers provide assistance to help individuals find permanent housing, employment, medical care and treatment for mental health conditions and co-occurring addiction.
