Brief Overview
Join us on Saturday, August 12, 2017 for the 45th annual Missionary Ridge Road Race! This is a scenic, 4.7 mile out & back course atop beautiful Missionary Ridge. There is also a 1 mile fun run/walk - so be sure to bring the family!
Missionary Ridge is one of Chattanooga's most historic and beautiful residential neighborhoods. Many of the majestic homes date back more than 100 years. Site of a significant Civil War battlefield, "The Battle of Missionary Ridge" took place here on November 25, 1863. Throughout the race course you will see Civil War cannons, granite monuments, bronze plaques and sculptures along with sweeping views of Lookout Mountain and the Chattanooga skyline.
Both events start and finish at Bragg Reservation and all net proceeds will benefit the local chapter of American Red Cross and the Team Bruner Fund!

RACE PROCEEDS BENEFIT:
American Red Cross - prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies and disasters by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. They are dedicated to helping victims of disaster by providing programs and services that help our community prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Over 91 cents of every dollar donated goes to fulfill the Red Cross mission.
Team Bruner- awards John Bruner Memorial Scholarships at Dalton High School and Georgia College in Millegeville where John went to school. These fully endowed scholarships honor the memory of John Bruner by providing college funds to students who best exemplify the personal and athletic traits of this outstanding 2006 Dalton High School Graduate.
Team Bruner funds also go to children's running outreach programs operated by the Carpet Capital Running Club. In the past year they have payed the race entries for over 100 youth to participate in the Silver Bell Sprint, Peter's Free Wheelin 5K and The Run for John. While the kids run for free, the money that Team Bruner pays in entry fees essentially supports other worthy charitable causes such as Big Brother's & Big Sister's and St. Mark's Preschool, who are the charitable benificiaries of these races. They have also sponsored trophies for the Middle School Cross Country meets in the Dalton community and sponsored T-shirts for over 100 youth to wear their respective school colors during the annual Elementary School Track meet for Dalton Public Schools. Every shirt had "Team Bruner" on the sleeve.
